Moxa sticks are a commonly used remedy origination from Ancient Chinese medicine.
Using the heat from burning moxa sticks has been shown to be more effective than either external cephalic version or acupuncture for turning breech babies, and in the current climate of automatic caesarean births for breech babies, many parents and midwives are looking for simple, cheap ways of encouraging the baby to turn.
Produces less smoke and odour.
Uniform and slow burning, these rigid, compressed sticks (made by a special charcoal process) are 11cm x 1.5cm dia (4.3" x 0.6") and contain a proprietary combination of moxa and herbs.
A small butane torch ignites these easily, otherwise a lighter or candle may be used. Burn time is approximately 4.5cm (1.8") per hour.
